The reason this question should be asked and addressed with some urgency is because of the increasing number of gamblers that are losing there money, houses, jobs and cars just to feed there addiction. It beckons the question as to whether or not safe gambling should be taught in schools, this way people will know when to stop and less and less people will become addicted.
I think the whole reason behind people getting addicted is because gambling is somewhat still seen as an underground activity, I believe if it were to be taken more mainstream and be taught to youngsters in school then when they grew up they would be less likely to become an addict, because of the knowledge they have of what gambling can do to people. A brief example of this is cigarettes or as youngsters call them fags, the reason for saying this is because there is a law in place where you are not allowed to smoke until you are 16, so what do 10, 11, 13 and 14 year old kids do? They smoke, why? Because it is considered as risky, dangerous, illegal something they are not allowed to do. I can guarantee that if smoking did not have an age limit youngsters would not do it as much.
The same thing can be said for gambling if we bring it mainstream into the schools, one lesson a week on gambling would make people growing older more knowledgeable not only in gambling but in life experiences.
