Stun Gun or Stun Baton for Maximum Impact?

Self-defense is a part of modern life, and not just in inner-city environments, either. Some still espouse the idea that urban areas are inherently dangerous, but consider this: big cities mean big police forces (relatively speaking, anyway), and thus a big city offers a better chance of help than a small one. Out in the countryside - which is to say, in the middle of nowhere - it is likely to be more dangerous than in a city because any help could only be available in the form of a three-person county sheriff's department!

That is one reason it appears that the most vocal of gun-rights advocates are to be found outside the cities. But firearms come with their own problems, legal and otherwise. They need to be licensed by the state or municipality and are also difficult to acquire as a result of all the hoops involved. They also need to be properly maintained and safely stored, and require constant practice to retain the necessary expertise in their use. And all that doesn't even begin to get into the likely moral complications involved with an actual discharge.

A Stun Baton, however, is a great all-bases-covered solution for your personal security. A stun baton is an electroshock weapon that temporarily disables a would-be assailant so that you or your loved ones can run to safety and find help. A Stun Gun can also be used for this purpose, and both devices are powerful enough to stop even the most frenzied of drug-addled criminals. Depending on the exact model, a stun gun can even be left behind to pin down a miscreant! That is, if it didn't first knock out the rascal - often up to thirty whole minutes at a time, which is plenty for you to call the police and for them to arrive. A civilian-grade stun gun can engage targets from up to fifteen feet away, but police models can do twice that distance. Though instruction in their use can be helpful, it really isn't absolutely necessary. Unfortunately, you do need to check with your jurisdiction to see whether a stun baton or stun gun is allowed. These liberal jurisdictions happen to also be the ones with the most violent street crime. They perhaps not so ironically misunderstand the power and purpose of an electroshock weapon and find it easier to hamper law-abiding citizens' right to self-defense than to throw away the jail cell key of criminals!

The stun baton and stun gun are widely available these days, though not all brands offer their users a lifetime replacement guarantee where if your device should ever need to be employed but is lost or rendered useless, the company will rush you a free replacement upon the receipt of a police department's incident report.
