There is such a big list of things that need to be done during a pregnancy that it is natural for you to have some concerns.
However, all worried mothers find a way to push through that anxiety, so try to relax. Here are some of the most common worries of first time mothers and the secret is, it's normal to worry about them!:
Is my baby normal - When your baby is born, the first thing you want to do is hear it make a noise - cry, laugh, something - so you know he or she is alive.
The next thing you want to hear is the doctor announcing that he or she has ten fingers and toes... and they're all in the right places. Every mother wants their baby to be born healthy and wants them to be normal.
This is as much as concern for the baby's health as it is for the mother's sanity. A baby that cries more than normal can be hard to handle, for instance. A mother will go through a lot for her child, but it's nice to know that everything is normal.
Will my baby survive - over the nine months that you are carrying your child there can be a slight nagging thought about such things as Sudden Infant Death Syndrome and any of the other illnesses that can affect a child in their early months.
Once you have your child, it may seem like they could slip away from you so easily. Don't worry, though. You have the ability to protect them and to take care of them. For every danger out there, there is also protection.
Will I make a good parent? - Pretty much every mother throughout history would have asked themselves this questions at some stage or another. There is always that fear of not being able to do a god job.
Suddenly, there's this life in her your hands and that's a huge responsibility. The good news is that there's no one way to be a good mother. All it takes is your effort.
If you care for your child and do your best to provide for them, odds are they'll turn out just fine in the end.
Each mother will have a different method of dealing with their concerns. Your approach will be uniquely your own. There is nothing wrong with being a worrier - it shows your concern and will ensure you do a good job.
